Primary data is

• data that you or your group has collected first hand during your own enquiry

What are the issues of primary data collection?

• Your data collection may not be sufficient to answer your original question fully. More data collection by be required.

• The data is out of date.

• Collecting the data can be time consuming and difficult.

What is secondary data?

• Data you collect yourself

• Data you do not collect yourself, collecting throug a website or database

What is qualitative data?

• Data collected that does not have a numeric value - e.g., a questionnaire, field sketch or photograph.
