The purpose of the Getting Involved/Be.Do.Create lesson is to:

• Inform students about our Comet Culture and learn about the Be.Do.Create motto

• Let students know there's a place for everyone's talents and interests at CHS

• To go over some fun facts about CHS in a friendly Jeopardy format

What are the academic requirements to be able to play a sport at CHS?

• Honor Roll and no unexcused absences

• 2.0 GPA or higher and only 1 failing grade

• Final GPA of a 2.0 or higher from the prior school year

• A 2.0 GPA or above

If students seem hesitant to join clubs or sports you can suggest:

• Clubs where you don't need to try out or audition

• A competitive sport that makes cuts regularly

• Joining a helping group like Student Sharing or Stage Crew

• A and C (blue and yellow)

The BE in Be.Do.Create means to:

• Do your best on tests, academics, try out for plays, take AP courses and try AP tests

• Be your best person by helping others, lending a hand, empathizing with others and including others

• Create a legacy like a club, program or event

• Get donut and a pin every month that a teacher nominates you as a thier student of the month

Donuts, a Catonsville Pin and a "Student of the Month" certificate are awarded as the reward for being a teacher's student of the month. How do you achieve this honor?
