One day two swindlers came to this city; they made people believe that they were weavers and declared they could manufacture the finest cloth to be imagined. Their colors and patterns, they said, were not only exceptionally beautiful, but the clothes made of their material possessed the wonderful quality of being invisible to any man who was unfit for his office or vey unwise. “That must be a wonderful cloth,” thought the emperor. “If I were to be dressed in a suit made of this cloth, I should be able to find out which men in my empire were unfit for their places, and I could distinguish the clever from the unwise. I must have this cloth woven for me without delay.” And he gave a large sum of money to the swindlers in advance, that they should set to work without any loss of time.

You may have seen a hamster zip around in a clear plastic ball. But people can roll around in their own clear exercise balls, too! Exercise balls for humans are called zorbs. Zorbing can really make your head—and body—spin.

A zorb is not exactly the same as a hamster ball. First, it is really two balls, a smaller one centered inside a larger one. The outer sphere measures about nine feet across the middle, and the inner sphere is about six feet wide. It can hold between one and three people. Another difference is that the zorb's spheres are made of softer plastic. The elastic material must be filled with air in order to take its shape. Thanks to the material and the layer of air, a zorb will bounce off anything it hits.

Zorbing can be enjoyed in different ways on safe zorbing tracks. In "dry" zorbing, zorbers roll head over heels down a hill while strapped inside the zorb. In "wet" zorbing, or hydrozorbing, people are loaded into the zorb with some water inside. Without being strapped in, they go slipping and sloshing as they speed down the hill. Some zorbers prefer zorbing on flat land. That way they have to run or walk upright, using only their bodies to control the forward motion of the zorb. It's not easy to do, but it's a great way to get exercise. Just ask a hamster!
