Layers in Canva

1. What is the advantage of using layers?

• You can edit and restack components of a document individually.

• Layer pixels are editable, whereas the original Background pixels are not.

• Layers keep the file size small.

• No advantage

2. What shortcut do you use to duplicate a layer or the Background?

• Cmd+J / Ctrl+J

• Cmd+D / Ctrl+D

3. When you create a new, blank layer, where does it appear in the Layers panel?

• Always above the topmost layer

4. How do you group a layer or elements in Canva?

• Select all the elements and drag them to together to group

• Select the elements individually by holding the Shift key on your keyboard while clicking on them one by one, then click on the Group button.

• Select elements to group and drag them on the Group button.

• Click on the Group button, then select the elements that you want to group.

5. How do you move a layer in Canva to a higher position in the stack?

• Click the layer or element, then press the Up arrow on the keyboard.

• Drag the layer or element upward to the desired stacking position.

• Right-click the layer or element and choose to send to back or bring to front from the context menu.

• Left-click the layer or element, then press the Up arrow on the keyboard.
