My morning routine

My name is Bob. Each day I drive my kids to school. My daughter goes to a school that’s far from our house. It takes 30 minutes to get there. Then I drive my son to his school. It’s close to my job. My daughter is in the sixth grade and my son is in the second. They are both good students. My daughter usually sings her favorite songs while I drive. My son usually sleeps.

I arrive at the office at 8:30 AM. I say good morning to all my workmates then I get a big cup of hot coffee. I turn on my computer and read my email. Some days I have a lot to read. Soon I need another cup of coffee.

Which two places are near each other?

Affirmative sentences

There is a rule that only applies to sentences in the present simple affirmative. When using the personal pronouns he, she, it, nouns and proper nouns in the singular, the verb undergoes modifications according to the following:

If the verb ends in X, SH, CH, O, SS and Z, "-es" must be added to the end. For example: Fix = Fixes, Wish = Wishes, Watch = Watches, Miss = Misses, Go = Goes.

If the verb ends in a different combination than the above, "-s" is added at the end. For example: Work = Works, Eat= Eats, Call = Calls, Sleep = Sleeps

If the verb ends in "Y", but has a vowel before it, "-s" is added at the end. For example: Play = Plays, Pay = Pays

If the verb ends in "Y", but has a consonant before it, the "Y" is removed and "-ies" is added. For example: Fly = Flies, Study = Studies

Negative sentences

In this case, to write sentences in the negative, the auxiliary "do" must be used when we use the pronouns "I, You, We, They" and the auxiliary "does" when we use the pronouns "he, she, it", nouns and proper nouns in the singular.

So, the basic formula would be:

Subject + Auxiliary "do" or "does" + NOT + Verb + Complement.

You can also use the contraction of the auxiliary with the negation, which would be "don't" and "doesn't".

This information is either true or false.
