Dance Terminology

A single or multiple turns done on one leg.

the act of movement of the upper body and arms

The relationship of the skeleton to the line of gravity and the base of support. Proper alignment lessens strain on muscles and joints and promotes dance skills.

Heels together with the toes pointed outwards.  

Similar to 1st position but your feet are apart.

 The heel of one foot is in the arch of the opposite foot.

one foot rests about 12 inches in advance of the other, both are turned out, and the weight is divided between them
