READING VISUAL ARTS

Is a simple representation of things through abstract and unreal images and scenes. It doesn’t copy the reality as it is in realistic paintings; instead, it just portrays things in some vague images, lines, colors and shapes.

It represents objects or events in the real world, usually looking easily recognizable.

It exists on a continuum, from somewhat representational work, to work that is so far removed from its actual real-world appearance that it is almost impossible to easily discern what is being represented.

It simply depict shapes, colors, lines, etc., but may also express things that are not visible– emotions or feelings

Believed in the ideology of objective reality and revolted against exaggerated emotionalism.

This is clearly manifested when the subject is in misshapen condition, or the regular shape is twisted out.

It refers to that which is being lengthened, a protraction or an extension.

 This may not be a commonly used way of presenting an abstract subject, but there are few artists who show subject or objects which are cut, lacerated, mutilated, torn, hacked or disfigured.

It is represented as combinations of basic geometric shapes - sometimes showing multiple viewpoints of a particular image.

It systematically uses symbols to concentrate or intensify meaning
