Surah Ash-Shams سُوۡرَةُ الشّمس

What is the meaning of Ash-Shams?

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF:

"وَالْقَمَرِ إذَا تَلَاهَا"

• And [by] the moon when it follows it.

• And by the night when it covers it.

• He has succeeded who purifies it.

• And by the earth and the on who spread it.

WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING TRANSLATE TO:

"And by the heavens and (the one) who built it"

• وَالْقَمَرِ إذَا تَلَاهَا

• وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاها

• وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا

• وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّاهَا

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF:

"قَدْ أفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا"

• And by the night when it covers it.

• Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself.

• And by the earth and the on who spread it.

• By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it.
