(15)Temple Grandin once said, “People and animals are supposed to be together”. I think this is very true and that interacting with animals teaches us very valuable life lessons that can help us with a lot of skills that make your life easier like having perseverance, interacting, and unconditional love.

 

First, animals have been known to never give up. Animals are highly adaptable to any new situation that is presented to them, this means that if an animal lost a limb it would be able to walk like it was born that way. The book, Marley and Me, states, “Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy about seizing the moment and following your heart.” I heard about a piglet that lost both its back legs, and a boy made a wheelchair for the piglet out of tinker toys. The piglet was walking in almost no time at all.

 

Second, animals are very interactive and can help you become more social. Animals are very smart and can understand if a human is sad or happy. Temple Grandin states, “Animals kept me going. I spent every waking moment that I didn’t have to be studying or going to school with those horses.” This means that it was easier for Temple Grandin to talk or communicate with horses because animals won’t judge someone like a human will. Animals are also used in children’s hospitals to help kids get over a traumatic experience like losing their parents or getting in a very bad car crash.

 

Third, animals will love you no matter what. My cousins came over to my house for a week and one of them was really little, so he would try to ride my dog or follow my dog around and keep grabbing his tail but my dog never bit him or nipped him. The story, “Saying Farewell to a Faithful Pal,” states, “He gently rested his blocky head in her lap and just whimpered.” This means that even after a miscarriage or if you look different than anybody else, your dog doesn’t care; your dog will still love you.

 

The American author Benjamin Hoff said “lots of people talk to animals. Not very many listens, though.” Animals love humans and can always help humans if humans are willing to help animals; Animals help to teach humans very valuable lessons about never giving up, being more social, and to love no matter what.
