Pupil:

Conjuctiva:

• Delicate membrane lining the eyelids and covering the anterior sclera of the eyebal

• Fibrous layer of clear tissue that extends over the anterior portion of the eyeball

Cornea

• Contains sensitive cells called rods and cones that transform light energy into nerve impulses

• Fibrous layer of clear tissue that extends over the anterior portion of the eyeball

Scelra

• Colored portion of the eye;sorrounds the pupil

• Tough, white outer layer of the eyeball

Choroid

• Vascular layer of the eyeball that is continuous with the iris

Iris:

• Colored portion of the eye; sorrounds the pupil

• Contains muscles that control the shape of the lens and secretes aqueous humor

Ciliary body:

• Tranparent structure behind the iris and in front of the vitreous humor; it refracts behind light

• Contains muscles that control the shape of the lends and secretes aqueous humor

Lens:

• Transparent structure behind the iris and in front of the vitreous humor; it refracts light rays onto the retina

Retina:

• Contains sensitive cells called rods and cones that transform light energy into nerve impluses
