He was born in Vietnam but he lived in the Philippines and studied in Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros run by Dominicans. He finished his college degree at the University of Santo Tomas. Soon he became a Dominican Friar.

He wanted to be a priest but he was not able to study so he was only accepted as lay brother in the monastery and was assigned as porter and gatekeeper. And because of this he got close to the poor and the sick especially the lepers. He always share his food to the poor.

She showed that she loved God above all by giving up her wealth in order to obey His command to love other as she loved herself.  She opened a house for orphans that people called “Providence House”.
