BA training is designed to equip the operational staff with confidence and professional knowledge to work in heat and humid environment. The objective of such BA training is to ensure the staff don and operate the BA set confidently under hot and humid conditions. The Conducting Officer shall ensure that the following conditions are met or adhered to during the conduct of BA training in heat and humid environment.

Hot firefighting training is designed to test the staff and their handling of equipment under controlled fire conditions.  The objective of such hot firefighting training is to train the crew on the various operational and tactics that AES adheres to. The training programme shall comprise of the following.

• Conduct at least once every 9 months 

• Conduct at least once every 1 year 

• Conduct at least once every 3 months 

The main purpose of the reaction time test is to test the operational crew’s alertness to respond to sudden activation. The reaction time is considered to be the time in which the first foam producing fire vehicle starts its engine in 15 seconds or less. Other than the drivers, the rest of the crew shall don their full firefighting PPE to stimulate a real incident. It is to be noted that there is no need for the vehicle to move out of the vehicle bay during a reaction time test.
