• Come ask me, especially right at the beginning of class.

• Check Powerschool to see if you have any missing grades from that day.

• You're excused from that day's assignment/lesson.

The best thing to do when you are absent is:

• Send Ms. T an email to give a heads up. Check Schoology in the meantime.

• Have your parent email me to collect your work for the day.

• Check what we did with friends once we get back.

• Trust that I will come find you when you get back to catch you up. No worries right now.

When you come into the room:

• You have five minutes to settle down with friends.

• Check the board and immediately see what materials are needed, write down agenda msg, and begin warm-up.

• Ask to go to the bathroom.

• Sit down and wait to be told what to do.

You KNOW you don't wait to work on something because you don't have a pen or pencil. Instead,

• ask a friend for one.

• at the beginning of class, go to the pencil/pen jars and get one (return after class).

• go to your locker and hold your breath to see if you have one there.

• use this as a reason to excuse yourself from work today.

If I know I'm struggling to get something turned in on time because of life demands...

• I let Ms. T know AHEAD of time and we decide on a new due date.

• Take the late points off...better late than never.

• Some busy schedules mean assignments will be excused.

• One zero won't ultimately hurt my average too badly.

• When students don't have a pencil. Be prepared, people!

• When you ask me to go to the bathroom. Why not in another class?

• When you don't do well on an assignment. Come on! We learned this!

Plagiarism is when you use ANY content as your answer that you DID NOT PERSONALLY WRITE. This includes rewording. At CMS, this results in:

• ISS, call home, and a zero. You will have to redo the assignment anyway.

• A warning. It's highly discouraged.

• Ok in some circumstances, but just try to reword it enough.

• A crime.
