And how should I treat things that are not mine and I'm just borrowing?

• During Bellwork. (after you finish if possible)

• When Ms. Carpenter is in the middle of giving instructions.

• In the middle of a lesson, so I can miss everything I need in order to do my work for the day.

• When I'm working independently, or on my own.

When the bell is about to ring and we are cleaning up, what all should you check before you leave?

• Make sure all my trash and papers are put where they belong.

• Put all my supplies neatly where they belong.

• Push my chair in, stand behind it, and have all my belongings in my bag and ready to go.

• Wait for Ms. Carpenter to call my table to leave.

Should I get up and sharpen my pencil, get a tissue, ask Ms. Carpenter a question, walk around the room, or grab a coloring sheet when Ms. Carpenter is telling instructions or teaching?

• Of course! She loves when I get up and walk around the room while she's trying to teach 20 kids.

• No, it's rude and distracting.

• No, but I can give her a signal if it's an emergency for the bathroom or a tissue.

If you bring food, should you ask if you can eat during class?

• Yes. It's can be disruptive, or distracting so I should ask.

• People love trying to hear Ms. Carpenter over the crinkling of wrappers and trash. So no.

• Yes, because she's more likely to say yes if I ask politely first.
