An Isolation switch:

• Can be located anywhere on the vehicle as long as it is marked properly.

• Must be accessible from a person outside the vehicle.

• Must be accessible by the driver while belted in.

• All of the above.

Mirrors are required to provide visibility on both sides of the vehicle to the rear and:

• Must be a minimum of 8 square inches total area, which can be provided with

  one or multiple mirrors.

• Have no tinting or distortion.

• Have a minimum of 4 square inches per mirror.

• Are not required as long as the driver can turn their head to look behind them.

Safety belts:

• a. Only require a lap belt as long as the roll bar extends at least 6” above the

  drivers helmet.

• Must be a 5 point harness, and have a functional anti-submarine strap secured to

  the vehicle chassis, and be properly fitted to the correct anatomical points on the

  driver.

• Can be any type that you like.

• Only have to be worn if the driver plans to drive at full speed.

Driver helmets:

• Can be any type as long as it is full face.

• Are only required if you do not have a canopy.

• May be simple bicycle helmets.

• Must be - 1. DOT, SNELL or ECE rated for motorsport use. 2. full face, and 3.fit

  appropriately, and securely buckled under the chin. Lacking any of the

  characteristics disqualifies the helmet for use.

Drivers must be able to exit the vehicle:

• in under 1 minute unassisted.

• in under 30 seconds unassisted.

• In under 15 seconds.

• In under 20 seconds unassisted.

Drivers must be:

• Any age as long as they are a student.

• 16 years of age.

• 16 years of age and should hold either a learners permit or a drivers license.

• There are no requirements for the driver.

Vehicles must be able to come to a stop:

• In 25 feet or less from 25mph.

• from full speed within 40 feet.

• In 25 feet or less from 40mph.

• in 40 feet or less from 25mph.

Wheel axle diameter, if NOT supported on both ends:

• Can be any size a team deems reasonable.

• Must be at least 12 mm or ½” in diameter.

• Must be less than 1” in diameter to save weight.

• Does not matter provided the wheel and brake fits.

The shape of the front of the car or ‘Nose Cone’:

• Must not be overly pointed or sharp, and have at least a 3” radius (6” diameter) in

  at least one direction and 1” in the other direction.

• Must not have a point and can be any size.

• Can be any size or shape that fits your design looks.

• Needs to be small and thin to help aerodynamics.

The Roll bar:

• Can be made of any material and design provided it extends above the driver’s

  helmet.

• Can be a single pole provided it extends above the drivers helmet to prevent

  touching the ground in a roll over.

• Must be painted and decorated to match the car’s paint job.

• Must be adequately triangulated.
