Jonah Ch. 1&2

1.     Meditation verse for the Book of Jonah chapters 1&2: In chapter 1, we learn about how God called Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh but Jonah didn’t obey God and he ran away to Tarshish, but God sent a strong storm and the sailors through Jonah in the sea. God prepared a big fish to swallow Jonah. In Chapter 2, we read about Jonah’s prayers inside the Whale belly and how he humbled himself before God. In Chapter 2 verse 7, we read how Jonah had faith that his prayers went up to God, even when he still inside the whale’s belly, so God delivered him and kept him safe. We should pray to the Lord with faith that He is listening to us, watching us and will do the best for us in His perfect timing.  “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He _______to me, and ___________my cry” (Psalm 40:1).
