• The family leaves their apartment in a really secretive way in the middle of the night in order to not get caught. They are headed to Sister Lottie's.

• They are on their way to NYC, but the bus has to stop for fuel. As they stop, DF agents board the bus for a second scan. Mami’s chip malfunctions and she is taken away by the DF. Mami tells Vali and Ernie to “GO!”

• There are scanning stations to get on the bus. It’s tense, but everyone gets in.

• Ernie and Vali escape the DF raid on the bus.

• They end up taking refuge in between two dumpsters.
