How do we know to do CPR for a child?

• Unresponsive

• Pale skin

• Not breathing normally

• Gasping for air

When you find a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally,what would you do?

• Ask someone to call 999/112

• Ask them to bring an AED

• Give aspirin 300 MG

• If you're alone start CPR for one minute before calling for help

What to do continue CPR(30:2)until help arrives?

• Call 999 or 112 for emergency help

• If a mobile phone is not available and you have to get a telephone,take the child with you if you are able

• Do not leave the child to look for an AED

• Swap over everyone to 15 minute with minimal interruptions to chest

(NO BREATHING - CPR) How deep should compressions be when performing CPR on an adult?

• 1/2 to 1 inch
• at least 1 1/2 inches
• at least 2 inches
• at least 3 inches

If, during the second analysis, the AED prompts
“no shock advised,” you should:

• Check the pad placement on the
  person’s chest.
• Reset the AED by turning it off for 10 seconds.
• Resume CPR until the AED reanalyzes or you
  find an obvious sign of life.
• Unplug the connector from the machine.

When do you take the AED pads off?

• When you leave the scene
