A method of solving a problem logically.

It allows us to understand what the problem is and come up with

possible solutions.

Breaking something (the problem) into smaller, manageable parts.

Eg. thinking of the things we need and tasks to do in order to

do something.

Looking for similarities and trends.

Eg. grouping things into categories.

Focus on important details.

Ignore the unnecessary.

Eg. Creating an overview of the problem.

Creation of "step by step" instructions of the solution.

Fixing errors

Types of algorithms:

Shows each step in a clear order, well written structure.

Placed at the start of your code to identify

the beginning position of your algorithm. (written in

UPPERCASE)

Placed at the end of your code to identify

the finishing position of your algorithm. (written in

UPPERCASE)

An instruction to perform an action. (eg. "kick the ball",

"answer <- user input / STORE user input as "answer")
