Nature's Water Park by Audge Podge
"Rain, Rain, go away. Come back another day!" whined Melana and her sister, Kelly, as they stared at their soaked backyard. "You two should go outside and play," said Mom. "Mom, the weather is awful. Look! The rain is pouring," Melana said. "So," said Mom. "So?" the girls asked. "The weather is warm, so you will not catch a cold. There is not any thunder or lightning to worry about," Mom explained. "This is the perfect time for both of you to play in the rain." "Play in the rain?" Melana asked. "Sure," said Mom. "Think of it as nature's water park. I especially like it because admission is free." Kelly and Melana stared at Mom to make sure she was serious, and Mom finally asked, "Well, what are you two waiting for?" With that, Melana and Kelly scooted out the door. They danced around in the rain and splashed in puddles all afternoon. The rain made playing on the backyard swing even more fun. They never thought that a rainy day could be so exciting.

MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

Jerry was always the biggest guy in class, and he was friendly with some pretty tough kids. This all changed, however, when he met Rob. It felt strange for Jerry to even walk next to Rob because Rob was so small. Jerry had to look down to talk to him. Jerry felt like he was talking to a little kid even though they were the same age. "Don't you feel strange to be the smallest kid in class?" Jerry finally asked Rob one day. "I mean—don't you think everyone looks tougher than you?" "No, I don't." Rob replied. "I am also the smartest in class. Don't you feel weird hanging out with a geek?" Jerry had never once thought of his new friend as a geek, or nerd. He had always been happy that Rob could help him with his homework. Suddenly, Jerry felt that he had found a great friend in Rob. How Rob looked did not matter to him at all. "Besides," Rob added. "I am not going to be small and ten years old forever."
Which is a theme of the passage?

Preparing for an Audition
It is important to understand that preparation is the key to standing out at an audition. Actors and dancers must learn about the part they will be auditioning for prior to attending the audition. They must also practice lines and dance moves. Sometimes, they will practice in front of friends and family to get feedback about how they can improve before they actually have to try out in front of the judges. Oftentimes, an audition has several rounds. In the first round, directors might have pairs of actors or large groups of dancers perform together. This is because they are looking for the people who can best bring the characters and scenes to life. They also want to see if the actors and dancers can learn new lines or steps quickly. After the first round, many people are told they did not get the part and the group will become smaller. There can be several more rounds that follow. In each round more actors and dancers are sent home. Many, now famous, performers have been told they did not get a part. The important thing to remember is that they kept trying! If you should ever audition for a part and not get it, do not lose heart! Keep practicing and going to auditions and you will definitely succeed!
Which TWO sentences best show ideas that are important to include in a summary of this passage?
