Sound and light waves

Occur when the disturbance is at a right angle to the direction the wave is moving 

Ex: Heat and light waves

Waves where the disturbance moves in the same direction as the wave.

Ex: Sound wave

the distance from crest (top) to crest (top) or from trough (bottom) to trough (bottom)

the length from rest to crest

the number of waves that pass a fixed point in unit time

The bottom of the wave
