What is Teacher-in-Role?

• The Teacher works in a role (alongside

  children) within shared, imagined worlds.

• The Teacher takes on a different role to scare the children.

• The Teacher takes on a role and creates crises with the children.

• The Teacher works with the children to help them problem-solve.

Why do we use Teacher-in-Role?

• Gain, focus and sustain the student’s attention on a particular character and/or situation.

• Stimulate and provoke cognitive and affective
