Intensive course is...

• A course which takes place over a long period of time and which consists of a large number of hours and many difficult tasks.

• A course which takes place over a short period of time, but which consists of a large number of hours.

The different ways learners and the teacher work together in class, e.g. learner to learner in pairs or groups, or teacher to learner in open class, in plenary. When teachers plan lessons, they think about them and write them on their plan.

A word or type of language in a text which is important for understanding the text. Teachers often teach them in a text before learners read it so that the text is more manageable for them.

A group of words and/or phrases which are about the same topic or subject; e.g. on the topic of weather could be: storm, rain, wind, cloud.
