1.The rapid growth of the world's population threatens the natural sources, which could lead peoples of the Earth to have difficulty in accessing food. 2.Therefore, organic farming has become a new trend to be promoted to tackle the food insecurity issue, which is mainly caused by harmful agricultural practices. 3.Organic farming can be defined as a production system which relies upon on-farm agronomic, biological, and mechanical methods that promote and enhance biodiversity, biological cycles, and agro-ecosystem health (Meena et al., 2013). 4.According to Eosta (2019), as mentioned in the news article “Sustainable Development Goals and the link to organic,” global agriculture has reached a crossroad.  5.The article points out that even though the current system in agriculture has increased productivity, it gives great harm to the environment and it is claimed that the effect of the food industry on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” is irreversible (Eosta, 2019). 6.Eosta (2019) also states that preserving the Earth’s soils is crucial if SDG 2: Zero Hunger is the aim. 7.In that sense, it is necessary to shift to organic farming globally as this type of agricultural practice helps to conserve the environment by promoting the sustainable use of natural resources and to enhance biodiversity by limiting the magnitude of global warming.
