A valid offer:

• Must appear to be seriously intended.
• Must be expressly stated.
• Must be in writing.
• May be accepted by anyone who knows of it.

In order to have a valid contract there must be:

• An offer and an acceptance.
• A written expression of the terms.
• A reliable witness if the contract is oral.
• An understanding of the terms by one of the parties.

For an offer to be accepted:

• The acceptance must be in writing.
• Mental intention to accept is sufficient.
• There is a prescribed procedure the acceptor must follow.
• The acceptance must be communicated to the person making the offer.

A revocation of an offer occurs when:

• The offeror intends to revoke.
• A letter of revocation is dictated.
• The revocation is communicated to the offeree prior to acceptance.
• The offeror's intent to revoke is clearly shown to a person other than the offeree.

When no time is specified in the offer, the reasonable time an offer is open:
