My first day at school

Hello. My name’s Danny. Last Monday was my first day at the new school. I got up and put on my new uniform. I put my special toy dinosaur in the pocket because it’s my lucky toy. Then I started to walk to school. It was a long way. When I arrived at my new school, I stopped for a minute. Then, I walked through the school gate. It was only half past eight, but Alex was already in the playground and he was waiting for me. When I saw him, I felt much better. We went into the classroom together and sat down at some desks. They were at the front of the classroom. Next, the teacher came in. He was very friendly.

Yesterday I went to paint a house for a woman called Mrs. Brown but when I got to the house there was no one in. I decided to start painting because it was a big house and I had just two days to finish it. At about midday I stopped for lunch and went to a café round the corner. I asked for a burger and chips. That is my favorite meal. But there were no burgers so I had fish and chips instead. When I was eating my food, a woman phoned me. She said, “Where are you?” and I answered: “I’m having my lunch!” I was surprised because she was very unfriendly and she didn’t say she liked my painting.
