Tobit 13&14

Meditation verse for the book of Tobit Chapter 13 & 14:

In Chapter 13: Beginning of Chapter 13, we see the prophecies part of the Book of Tobit. We see when Tobit’s eyes were opened, his tongue was opened to praise the name of God. We see how Tobit was able to see the hand of God and how God scourges but at the same time saves. We also see how Tobit was understanding why God sometimes chastises us, this is because of our iniquities but at the same time God’s mercy will save us. We see How Tobit started to call to repentance, Tobit:13-8, believing in God’s mercy. We also see how Tobit prophesied about Jerusalem, the heavenly Jerusalem, the church of the new testaments. and how God may rebuild his tabernacle in it and recall all the captives and how all will be followed to God.

Chapter 14: Chapter 14 talks about how Tobit completed his life honorably and with gladness and how he departed in peace. We also see in the hour of his death, How he called his son Tobias along with his sons, the seven Youths, and started to talk about how Nineveh will pass away soon and how People who fear God will come back. We also see how beautiful the last commandment that Tobit delivered to his generations. Tobit didn’t care about how much money will leave to his generations but he focused on something more important, which was to serve The lord in truth and to please him and how they may accomplish justice and almsgiving and how they praise God with all their strength.
