A metaphor is a comparison between two things or ideas to show how one of the things is similar to the other. Unlike a simile, a metaphor does not use the words "like" or "as." Read the following passage.

Mike’s love for tacos burns bright, an undying flame that can never be extinguished, not even by a bad chalupa.
