My background is medical SLP and working with adults and geriatrics. I have high but attainable expectations, because I know you can reach them. Never do I expect perfection from a student, but I do expect a heavy dose of "try-hard." If you come to me with a question, I will always answer it. If you come to me for advice, I will give it. If you make an error, I'll guide you on how to fix it. But the next time, I expect you to apply what you have learned.

Make the most of every learning opportunity-- seriously. Take notes and save them. Stay organized. Use a planner or calendar app consistently.   It's okay to be tired, but try to actively avoid complacency. Two years will fly be, make the most of the time you have!

I really do read all of your papers, discussion posts, and essay questions on exams! If you put wild filler material in the middle of a paper, I will notice. (It has happened!) I enjoy lively discussions and student questions.  Interrupt me during a lecture if you have a questions! I don't mind at all. I value attendance in class and often incentivize it with attendance points and surprise bonus point opportunities.

Develop a system to organize your time and tasks. The responsibility of graduate level study along with clinical responsibilities requires a high level of dedication and time management skill.
