Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Its mass is over 300 times the mass of Earth, but it is still tiny compared to the sun. Scientists call Jupiter a Jovian planet, which means that it is a gas giant. Gas giants aren't made entirely of solid rock like rocky planets. Jupiter has some rock in its core, but it is very little when compared to the whole planet. Besides a small amount of rock, Jupiter is made of very dense gases that have become liquids.

But Mars is very different from Earth. It has only 40% of our gravity and an atmosphere made of carbon dioxide.

A symbol is something that represents something else. Some symbols are universal, meaning practically everyone understands them. We encounter these symbols all the time in everyday life. A fork and knife on a highway sign means a restaurant is nearby. A skull and crossbones tells us something is poisonous. Even logos for brands like Nike or Apple are symbols. When it comes to writing, authors make use of symbolism to add deeper meaning to their work. Symbols typically represent a greater idea than the symbol itself and help develop overarching themes. The meaning of these types of symbols rely on context. When we read, the specifics of a story give us clues about what a symbol might mean. For example, lightning may represent power in one story and fear in another. It all depends on the details of each story. (a)
