MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

Reading Part 5: Choose the correct answer.
I cancelled all my cards and did my best to accept whatever fate Apollo allotted me. Being without a wallet or phone had a kind of charm, like holidaying in the 1990s; we lived off cash and navigated by landmarks. If you see the mountain, head the other way etc. One day we decided to drive up that mountain, which is very steep and a bit scary. Halfway up, someone had left out a sign saying “Road Closed”, which was inaccurate but, unwilling to take the risk – knowing my luck – we chose to park and walk instead. That was when the car got stuck. Would not move. Convinced that I was inhabiting a holiday special of One Foot in the Grave, I stood on a rock and screamed at the Aegean Sea: “I do not believe it!”

Q: According to the passage, why did the author and their companions decide to park and walk instead of continuing up the mountain?

The road was closed and they didn't want to take the risk.

They wanted to enjoy the charm of navigating by landmarks.

The car got stuck and couldn't move.

They wanted to experience the feeling of being in a 1990s holiday.
