What is a reflector?

• an object that reflects light. Light rays bounce off a reflector’s surface, making it appear to light up.

Why is the Sun important to Earth?

• We would need to use torches all the time.

• without it we wouldn't have summer holidays

• It makes nice weather

• The Sun is the source of light and heat for Earth.

Why do we have day and night?

• The Earth rotates on its axis When a part of the Earth faces the Sun, we have daytime. When it rotates away, the absence of light creates night time.

• So we can go to bed and go to school.

• So we know when to have breakfast

How are shadows formed?

• When an opaque object blocks the lines of light from a source.

• When we stand infront of the sun

• When you shine a torch on an object

Why do shadows outdoors change position during the day?

• The objects move through the day and the sun stays still

• As the Earth rotates the position of the sun changes which makes the shadows move.

• Shadows move because people are walking and the shadow moves.

• Someone picks them up and moves them.
