The future tense tells us...

• what has happened.

• what is happening.

• what will/shall happen.

• what could happen.

To form the future tense you...

• change the verb to the yo form, then add the new endings.

• remove the -ar / -er / -ir then add the new endings.

• use tener + que

• add the new endings to the infinitive (ar, er, ir)

Translate: Los estudiantes escribirán un ensayo.

• The students wrote an essay.

• The students are writing an essay.

• The students can write an essay.

• The students will write an essay.

Translate: Saldré a las siete de la noche.

• I will leave at 7 PM.

• I am going to leave at 7 PM.

• I am leaving at 7 PM.

• I left at 7 PM.

Translate: We will study tonight.

• Estudiamos esta noche.

• Vamos a estudiar esta noche.

• Estudiaremos esta noche.

• Estudiábamos esta noche.

Translate: They shall not pass.

• Ellos no van a pasar.

• Ellos no vienen a pasar.

• Ellos no pasaron

• Ellos no pasarán.

¿Qué harás este fin de semana?

• Harás muchas cosas.

• Hara nada.

• Hará fin de semana..

• No haré nada.

¿Qué hará ella durante las vacaciones?

• Harás muchas cosas.

• No hará nada.

• Hará fin de semana..

• Haré nada.

• Bailará la Macarena.
