Recess duty teachers may:

• Stand or sit in their assigned duty location

• Make phone contacts with parents

• Use their phone to browse sites

• Check papers/student work

• Carefully monitor students at all times, and intervene immediately if anything looks unsafe.

Students in grades 3 and above should use the restroom at these times unless it’s an emergency:

• At home only

• Before school

  During lunch break

  After school

• As often as possible
