Lab Safety & Teacher Expectations Review

If you do not understand the directions or any part of the lab procedures, you should

• Figure it out on your own 

• Try several methods until something works

• Ask the teacher to explain the directions again

• Ask the school nurse to explain the directions again

Before you leave the Science classroom, you should

• Clean your work area and equipment

• Return all equipment to the proper storage area

• Wash your hands with soap and water

Long hair in the laboratory must be 

• cut shorter

• held away from the experiment with one hand

• neatly groomed

• tied back or kept entirely out of the way with a hair tie

Horseplay in the laboratory is

• always against the rules

• permitted as long as no one gets hurt

• permitted as long as you get permission from the teacher

• permitted as long as it's with your lab partner

Approved eye protection devices (such as goggles) are worn in the laboratory

If I need to get out of my seat during class

• You should yell the teachers name until you are acknowledged.
