there weren't many women in senior positions as I was coming (a)   and so you know I was often the first woman to have a role. (=to complete or endure something successfully)

• - The first five years in London and then the next 27 years outside of

the UK, 13 in North America and another 13 in Asia.

• - Sharon was your journey similarly sort of (a)   ?

• - I'm very you know disappointed really, because no it wasn't.

 I think there's two reasons

why I've stayed with Unilever for 38 years. One is just constantly being (a)  

and also exploring the world (=to make use of all somebody’s skill, intelligence)

we're kind of a decent company that uh puts a _________________ ____________________ on treating each other with respect (=regard it as very important)

At no point would it have (a)   my head that I would be or

should be the CEO of the company

 I was invited to participate in the process to select the next CEO. I was very very (a)   at first. (=slow to speak or act because you feel uncertain, embarrassed or unwilling)

constant fear of chairs and so it's slightly nerve-wracking for me sitting next to you, you know , a powerful chair and a chairwoman at that so um you know it's not all (a)   being a CEO. 

if I hadn't had those opportunities, those opportunities stretch you develop you and allow you to take the next role and so on and so on and you get um you know (a)   to lots of different experiences and people that give you other opportunities. 

And so I've just been incredibly fortunate to have been given those opportunities and then you know obviously to ___________ the _____________ of them (take the full advantage)

you weren’t looking for these leadership roles but you sort of you _____________ _________ them (=to start doing something that you had not planned to do)
