When entering the classroom at the beginning of the period, the proper procedure is to

• check the assignment on the board and get to work.

Food in class is

• okay if I bring enough for everybody.

• okay if I'm really, really hungry.

• never okay.

How do you show the teacher that you have something to say?

• Wave my hand in the air and say "Oh! Oh! Oh! until Ms. W calls on me.

• Call out enthusiastically whenever I have something to say.

• Raise my hand and quietly wait for Ms. W to call on me.

If I want to speak in class I should

• say what's on my mind.

• raise my hand before I speak.

• raise my hand and wait to be called on before speaking.

When another student is speaking I should

• listen attentively.

• pretend to listen attentively.

• secretly check my cell phone. (Hint: See question #3.)

If I think the teacher's decision is unfair I should

• argue until he changes his mind.

• hire a lawyer.

• arrange to discuss the matter with him privately.

When the teacher rings the bell on his desk it means

• he wants your attention.

• it's time to do the Macarena.

• class is dismissed.

It's okay to leave class to go to the bathroom

• when I'm bored.

• when it's an emergency and I have the teacher's permission.

• when nature calls.

Before the end of class

• my desk should be clean.

• all books and materials should be in their proper place.

• my desk should be clean and all books and materials should be in their proper place.

What should you do as soon as you finish your work - or whenever you have free time?

• Raise my hand and ask Ms. W, "What should I do now?"

• Automatically free read or free write.

• Take out my science homework, and work on that for a bit..
