DRAG AND DROP QUESTION

10 mins • 5 pts

Kim Possible was on an expedition to find a rare alchemical pendant. It was said to have curative powers, and Kim hoped to use it to heal her mother, who was suffering from a malignant case of (a)   .

The pendant was concealed deep within a cave in China. Kim knew it would be a dangerous mission, but she was adamant about finding it, no matter the consequences.

Kim traveled to China and made her way to the cave. The cave was tenebrous and humid, and the air was pungent with the smell of sulfur. Kim had to be careful not to stumble on the rocks and repress the urge to hack.

She followed a narrow path that led her deeper and deeper into the cave, causing her anxiety to kick in. Kim had suffered from (b)   for many years, and the current environment was starting to awaken dark memories from her childhood. Specifically, the memory of her older sister locking her in the closet for 999 days.

The path became darker and darker, and the walls seemed to close in on her more and more the deeper she traveled into the cave. For a moment, she almost decided to leave the cave, but she quickly pulled herself together and kept walking. The path was winding and treacherous, and Kim had to use all her skills to stay on track.

Finally, she reached the end of the path. There, in a (c)   chamber, was the pendant. It was made of pure (d)   and luminesced with a faint red light.

Kim knew she had found the pendant, but she had learned along her journey that it was said to be malefic, and anyone who took it would be afflicted with misfortune.

Kim hesitated for a moment, but then she embraced the pendant. She felt a surge of vigor flow through her, and she knew that she had done the right thing.

Kim quickly made her way back to the entrance of the cave. She was fatigued, but she was also relieved to be alive. She knew that the pendant would alleviate her mother's condition, and that was all that mattered.

Kim returned to the United States and gave the pendant to her mother. Her mother put the pendant on, but her symptoms did not improve. They deteriorated. Her cough became more frequent and severe, and she started to have dyspnea.

Kim took her mother to the doctor, but the doctor could not find anything wrong with her. He told Kim it was just a bad case of bronchitis and she would recover after a few weeks of intensive rest and relaxation. But those few weeks contained little rest for both Kim and her mother.

Kim's mother's death was a slow and painful one. She was bedridden for the last few months of her life, and she suffered greatly. Kim was by her side every step of the way, but she felt helpless to stop her mother's decline.

Kim's mother died of respiratory failure. Instead of healing her, the necklace had poisoned and weakened her body, which Kim Possible later discovered contained mercury, a severely toxic substance. Because of this, her mother could not fight off the infection that ultimately took her life.

Kim's guilt over her mother's death was (e)   . She felt like she had killed her mother and could never forgive herself. She kept the pendant as a reminder of her guilt, which haunted her for the rest of her life until, finally, after many years, death also came for Kim Possible.
