Verdi - While Egypt and Ethiopia are at war. Egyptian Army General Radamès is chosen to lead an assault on the enemy, and hopes by being victorious, to win the hand of his lover Aida – an Ethiopian enslaved as handmaiden to Egyptian princess, Amneris.

The son of Siegmund and Sieglinde has grown up - raised by a dwarf, Mime. He forges anew the fragments of his father’s shattered sword, Nothung. Mime longs to have as his own the ring and the gold that are now guarded by the giant Fafner, who has now become a dragon.

• Wagner - A mythical place harbors a deep magic in it. Anyone who should make a ring from it could rule the whole world, but the smithy that creates it has to renounce love forever. When Wotan, the ruler of the Gods, finds out that the Rhinegold has been stolen from the protection of the Rhinemaidens by the dreadful nibelung Alberich, he sees an opportunity.

• Wotan had fathered twin children with a mortal woman, a male called Siegmund and a female called Sieglinde. Separated early, the twins are now young adults. Siegmund, who has helped a woman being forced into marriage, is fleeing enemies and traveling under the assumed name Wehwalt. In the course of his flight, he loses his weapons. Sieglinde is living with her husband, Hunding, in a forest cabin.

Verdi - a tragic tale about Parisian courtesan, Violetta, who attempts to leave the life she knows behind to try and finally find true love. When she meets romantic, Alfredo, the hypocrisy of upper-class society threatens their love – and someone must pay the ultimate price.

Verdi - a dramatic opera that revolves around the title character, a hunchbacked jester for the Duke of Mantua – a morally corrupt ruler known for his womanising ways. His life becomes complicated when his latest wisecrack starts a vendetta that is far from amusing, leaving him cursed.

Rossi - The title character is restless of Switzerland's oppression under Gesler. Arnold is chided by his father for not marrying, but he is in love with Mathilde, who hails from the enemy Austria. During a wedding festivity, a wounded shepherd Leuthold explains that he killed one of Gesler's men to defend his daughter.

Rossini - follows the escapades of a Figaro, as he assists Count Almaviva in prising the beautiful Rosina away from her lecherous guardian, Dr Bartolo, so she can be with her one true love. It serves as a prequel to The Marriage of FIgaro.

Puccini - one of opera's most enduring tales of unrequited love. Puccini's poignant score follows the tragic tale of Cio Cio San, a young Japanese girl who falls in love with American naval officer Pinkerton, with devastating consequences.
