students can contribute to reducing the pollution in the environment. As you read this

Ways to Protect the Environment

(1) Scientists tell us that the environment is in trouble. (2) Landfills are running out

of room for trash. (3) Students can help with this.

(4) To begin with, students can ride their bikes or walk to school when possible

instead of getting a ride in a car. (5) Carbon dioxide makes up part of the greenhouse

gasses. (6) Cars release carbon dioxide. (7) If students walk or ride their bikes, there is

less stuff released into the air. (8) This helps the environment, because less carbon
