What is the cornea?

• Clear covering over the pupil and iris to protect the eye

• Bundle of nerves that carry information from the retina to the brain

• Detects images focused by the cornea and lens

• Dark circle in the center of your eye

What is the lens?

• The part of the eye that controls how much light enters the eye. This part of your eye has a certain color (e.g., brown, blue, green).

• Creates an image on the retina. Helps you see objects both close up and far away.
