Social Work seeks to enhance the social functioning of individuals, singularly and in groups

The general assignment for the social work profession is to mediate the process through which the individuals and society reach out to each other through a mutual need for self  fulfillment.

The central focus of social work traditionally seems to have been on the personal-in his-life-situation complex a simultaneous dual focus on man and his environment .     

Social work become involved when individuals are having difficulty in relationship with other people; in growing  so as to maximize their potential;  and in meeting the demands of the environment.

Is the result of the individuals  performance of his social roles.

To assist individuals and groups to identify and resolve or minimize problem arising out disequilibrium between themselves and environment.

Involves the early discovery, control, and elimination of those conditional or situations which may have harmful effect on social functioning.

To Help individual make maximum use of his/her own potentials and capacities as well as to further the affectiveness of available social or community resource.

  Organize and help process it goes through thorough study, involved the application of scientific knowledge learned during the course of professional education, theory serve as a base in term of which the professional rationalizes their operation in concrete situation.

It has been established through scientific study (research).
