One of the things I noticed when I first moved to Italy was how differently people behave socially. When I lived in the UK, my friends used to (1) ________to my house to play computer games and hang out. And my parents would (2)__________ their friends for dinner at our house. But in Italy, when we want to (3) ___________our friends, we usually go to a restaurant or to the beach.

I think there are two reasons for this. The weather in northern countries is so bad that we usually (4)____________ rather than go out. In the sunny south, it's nice to (5) ________and enjoy the good weather. One thing is the same, however: in both Italy and the UK, our friends sometimes (6)______________ to say 'hi' and it's always the nicest surprise.
