This word is a name given to a miếu to proclaim that it worships a sage and honors his achievements. The person who thought of and created this long, dignified name is Emperor Tang Xuanzong (of Tang dynasty – Nhà Đường). Another emperor 7 – 8 centuries later cut the original long name in half and shortened it to what we know and use today.
