When did God choose for us to be in Christ?

• Before the beginning of time

What does it mean to be in Christ?

• The things that Christ did as our representative are counted as things that we did.

• We are part of the body of Christ, both individually and as churches.

• Our spirits were in Christ while He was living on earth as our representative.

• The universe is Christ's body and we are inside of it.

What are things Christ did that are counted as ours because of being in Him?

• His death and burial

• His resurrection and ascension

• The blessings of salvation that He earned

• Living a righteous life

• Winning debates against pharisaical people

What does being in Christ have to do with our present lives?

• We are crucified with Christ and now live for Christ instead of ourselves.

• We are dead to sin and have new life.

• We have received the stages of the application of redemption and are also still awaiting their full fulfillment.

• We carry out our actions in Christ's power in a way that honors Him.

• We are dependent on Christ and on our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.

What does it mean that Christ is in us?

• Christ dwells in our hearts, living in us and working through us.

• Christ gives us spiritual power and strengthens us.

• Christ physically enters our bodies when we take communion.

• Christ's ideas and teachings live in us, but not His actual presence.

What are two things we discussed related to how we live as a result of the indwelling of Christ in us?

• We obey God's commandments.

• We treat our brothers and sisters as we would treat Christ.

• We encourage everyone to live however they want to live.

• We live as if we are Christ and expect to be treated as kings.
