COL Chapter 10: Parables

Truth

• depends on what you believe

• is sometimes correct

• never changes

• changes

The apostles handed on Jesus' message through the ministry of

• evangelization

• healing

• discipleship

• miracles

The Lost Sheep teaches that

• God loves believers the most

• we are not as important as someone who still doesn't believe

• God loves sinners

• we shouldn't get lost by sin

The Persistent Friend teaches that when God doesn't answer our prayers right away, we should

• keep praying

• stop praying after awhile

• pray for something else

• reconsider our priorities

The Mustard Seed teaches that the Kingdom of God is

• for only a few select people

• spread everywhere from a small beginning

• the biggest thing known to man

• the smallest thing known to man

The Pearl of Great Price teaches that

• money is good

• the Kingdom of God brings happiness

• we should hoard our possessions

• pearls are a good investment

The Pharisee and the Tax Collector teaches that

• we should not judge others

• debts should be paid

• we should compare ourselves to others

• we should tell God the things we do

The Workers in the Vineyard teaches us that

• even if we repent last minute, God will forgive us

• we don't have to be on time

• it doesn't matter how hard you work

• everyone should be paid a living wage

The Wedding Feast teaches us

• to wait for God to come to us

• the Kingdom of God is open to everyone

• only those chosen can go to heaven

• we can't go to heaven unless we do enough good deeds

The Sower teaches us that

• God's Word lives in some people

• the Kingdom of God is a garden

• Everyone who hears the Word will produce good works (fruit)

• we should share what we grow with others
