Rapunzel's mother couldn't help being drawn to the rampion bellflower so her father went to steal it from a witch next door. Before he could take it a witch appeared and killed the mother and father. The witch took baby Rapunzel to a castle and raised her as her own. A prince came to save her, but the witch found out and sent them both to a deserted island. After a few years Rapunzel and the prince found their way home and lived happily ever after.
Rapunzel was locked in a tower lonely and afraid. Each day a witch would bring Rapunzel food by climbing her hair. The climb hurt Rapunzel's scalp and she would cry for help. A prince heard her cries and said he would create a silk ladder to help Rapunzel climb down and escape her tortured fate. The witch learned of the prince's visits and foiled their plan. The witch cut off all of Rapunzel's hair and used it to trick the prince. When he climbed the tower the witch turned the prince into a mouse.
