What do we mean when we say that results are 'significant'?

• Results are culturally important

How do we check if results are signifcant?

Put the following steps for calculating a Binominal Sign Test in order:

• Count the number of +'s and -'s and identify the calculated value as whichever number is lower

• Mark a + for any scores that have a positive change and a - for any scores with a negative change

• If the calculated value is lower (or equal to) than critical value then it is significant

• Compare the calculated value against the critical value in the critcal value table

• First of all, ignore any scores that stay the same
