Step 1

• Stop at the door and look for any posted signs such as “Isolation”. If none, proceed.
• Gather your materials/equipment that you will need prior to entering the room. (if you know what you will need such as VS equipment)
• Use facility approved hand sanitizer upon entering the room.
• Knock on the door prior to entering: knock then wait a second or two before entering.
• Introduce yourself to the patient/resident
