Matthew 25&26

Meditation verses for Book of Matthew 25 & 26:

Chapter 25:in this chapter our Lord Jesus Christ talks about His second coming, how to be ready, and how our works will be counted on the judgment day. 

This chapter has 3 main parts: 

- V1-V13: The parable of the five wise virgins and the five foolish virgins- we must be prepared. 

- V14-V30: The parable of the talents – we must be good stewards. 

- V31- V45: The second coming & the judgment of merciful works

Chapter 26: This chapter talks about Wednesday & Thursday of the Holy Week and what happened to them.

- V6-V13: The visit of our Lord Jesus to Simon the leper’s house and the woman who poured the very costly oil over His head, and He said that was for my burial.

- V14-V16: Judas betrayed our Lord Jesus with the deal he made with the Jews.

- V17-V25: Covenant Thursday, the last supper, our Lord Jesus ate with His disciples and instituted the Eucharist.

- V31-V35: Our Lord Jesus told Peter you will deny me 3 times.

- V36-V56: Our Lord Jesus prayed in Gethsemane and during that, Judas, the chief priest, and the elders came to arrest Him.

- V57-V68: The trials for our Lord Jesus to judge Him. 

- V69-V75: Peter was watching what was happening while he was hiding. when they accuse him of being one of His followers, he denies that he even knew Him.
